Badminton Group
Staff and Postgrad badminton club - for those who enjoy a friendly game with a bit of a challenge.
Programme of events
We play mixed doubles at the University Sports Centre (Tyndall Avenue) on Tuesdays from 5 - 6.30pm and Fridays 6.30 - 8pm. We usually have five courts on Tuesdays, and at least three on Fridays. We have a wide range of levels from post-beginner to advanced, but we often mix it up in doubles games.
We often go the Hawthorns after the Tuesday session and have Christmas/birthday meals. We may take part in the next intra-mural badminton tournament if there is enough interest.
Membership
Eligibility to join - All staff and postgrads are welcome, although complete beginners are encouraged to try a course at the sports centre first as there are not many total beginners at the club.
Subscription fees - Sessions are free for UOB sports pass holders. There is a £4 admission fee for people not holding a sports pass. We also require everyone to join the mailing list (after trying out a session) and to contribute to the shuttle fund.
